Stuart Andrews, teacher of Medical Law and Ethics at the London School of Economics (LSE) and Queen Mary, University of London, died suddenly on Wednesday 28th July 2010. Stuart was a longstanding supporter of both BioNews and the Progress Educational Trust (PET) and many of our Friends and supporters will be saddened to learn of his death.
Stuart was an inspirational teacher. His enthusiasm and passion for medical law and ethics encouraged students to enjoy the academic study of law. He was the reason many students, including us, continued studying to postgraduate level and why some volunteered for BioNews and PET.
His influence will be a lasting part of the academic studies and future life of all the students he taught and our thoughts are with Stuart's family at this time.
Richard Ashcroft, Professor of Bioethics at Queen Mary added: 'Stuart was a loyal, generous and inspirational colleague'.
