PET goes round the bend

At the Progress Educational Trust (PET), being frugal is in our (metaphorical) DNA. We really value every single donation we receive, and we do everything we can to keep our overheads down. In this way, we maximise the resources we have to fulfil our vision of improving choices for people affected by infertility and genetic conditions.

So, in recent months, I have been turning my hand to DIY. I have changed the lock on the door into the PET office and cleaned up the mess after bilgewater came up through the plughole in our kitchen sink, spilling over into the cupboards below and beyond. I also had to dismantle and clear the U-bend.

By doing these small jobs myself, I saved the charity some money – London plumbers don't come cheap – albeit at the cost of my time. But when it comes to big IT challenges, such as overhauling the BioNews website and ensuring that our weekly email newsletter reaches thousands of subscribers, there's no getting around it – we really do need to pay experts.

As you will have realised, BioNews is having to make some changes – initially with the way its emails are sent out (if you haven't gone to and confirmed your subscription then do so now!), and in future with its entire website. These improvements come at a price, and we need your help to raise £3,000 towards these costs.

So please give generously via PayPal (click here), by text (text 'PROG23 £10' or any other amount to 70070), or by post (as detailed here).
