Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis Workshop

An event aimed at embryologists, molecular biologists and cytogeneticists, which will provide attendees with a comprehensive understanding of the field of PGD.

Topics addressed at this event will include:

  • preimplantation development and genetics;

  • the basics of IVF (laboratory and clinical);

  • embryo biopsy (theory only);

  • FISH and array CGH for PGD;

  • molecular diagnosis for PGD;

  • the ethical implications and future of the technology.

As well as presentations, the course will include practical demonstration of tubing cells for molecular diagnosis, FISH (and spreading cells for FISH), array CGH, and molecular diagnosis.

Attendance fees range from £1,750 to £1,950. Places can be booked simultaneously for this event and the following Polar Body, at a fee that ranges range from £2,500 to £3,000. To register, email Joyce Harper at joyce.harper@ucl.ac.uk with 'Workshop' in the subject heading.
