This course is aimed at biobank sponsors and researchers looking to establish and maintain a successful biological sample resource. The course has evolved in close consultation with national and international biobanking communities, to address practical issues of establishing and running a liquid or tissue biobank.
The course will include:
optional practical laboratory day on DNA extraction and quantification techniques;
talks from distinguished liquid and tissue biobanking scientists;
discussion and networking forums;
a tour of major biobanking facilities in the North West of England, including UK Biobank;
robotic automation workshop at RTS Life Science.
