Writing news storiesThe majority of news stories on BioNews are written by our team of talented volunteers. New volunteers are recruited largely through the BioNews internship scheme, which is currently available only to Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences and Law research students at University College London and King's College London. If you are not eligible to apply for a BioNews Internship, but you would nonetheless like to join the pool of volunteers who write for BioNews on an occasional or regular basis, please email Genetics Editor Ailsa Taylor at including a CV, details of your current area of work or study, and details of any previous writing experience. Writing commentariesBioNews commentaries are opinion pieces on genetics, assisted conception, embryo/stem cell research and related areas, written by individuals with particular expertise and/or interest in these fields. Such individuals might include biomedical researchers and practitioners, academics from a range of disciplines, families and organisations campaigning for changes in regulation, and others. If you are interested in writing a commentary for BioNews – either in response to a previous commentary, or on an entirely new theme – please contact the Commissioning Editor Sarah Norcross at or on +44 (0)20 7278 7870. Please note that while the BioNews editors are always happy to consider unsolicited commentaries, there is no guarantee that they will be published. Writing reviewsBioNews reviews are critical pieces about books (both factual and fictional), films, TV programmes, exhibitions or any other work dealing with genetics, assisted conception, embryo/stem cell research and related areas. These reviews are written by a mixture of experts and laypeople. If you are interested in writing a review for BioNews, or if you have any suggestions for items we ought to review, please contact the Commissioning Editor Sarah Norcross at or on +44 (0)20 7278 7870. Please note that while the BioNews editors are always happy to consider unsolicited reviews, there is no guarantee that they will be published. |
